Heroes
The word alone brings to mind images of greatness. As
a young child, we followed our parents. They were our
first role models. As youth, sports legends and celebrities
became our heroes. As adults, we looked up to friends,
mentors, and political and religious leaders. For some,
heroes were bigger than life; however, for many of us heroes
were those who reached out to us in a time of need. They
did so with no expectation of reward or recognition. It
is part of who they are and the character of their soul.
Each day, our hospitals
celebrate with a winning team of everyday heroes. In
total, more than 200,000 commit themselves to serving
their neighbors. They are healers and miracle
workers, young and old. They are male and female
and they come from many different ethnic, religious,
and social backgrounds. However, they are all
part of a unique group of committed healthcare professionals. Our
hospitals could not deliver the high-quality care
our patients need and deserve without our team of
everyday heroes. To honor their contributions,
the Florida Hospital Association (FHA) has developed
a program to recognize these dedicated men and women. |
"For
some,
heroes were
bigger
than life" Please
join FHA in honoring these outstanding men and women
in Florida’s first Hospital Heroes Recognition
Program. This annual award will recognize
10 employees from FHA member hospitals across Florida
who have given of themselves to heal and bring
joy and/or comfort to the patients we serve.
